How to Protect Your Christmas Tree

christmas ornamentYour Christmas tree is a most delightful sight with twinkling lights, and beautiful ornaments. It can also be a safety hazard for toddlers, pets and even you. Here are some quick tips to protect your tree (and your curious little ones).

1)Spray perfume or other scents around the bast of the tree. Cats especially will be averted by the smell.

2) If you have any breakable ornaments, consider putting them up high in the tree away from hand’s or paw’s reach. Plastic ornaments are just as beautiful, and won’t cause harm or a mess.

3) Tinsel and ribbon can be a choking hazard. It’s better to just stay away from items like this if you have little ones, or make sure they are placed well above reach.

4) If you have a live tree, make sure it says well hydrated. A dry tree is more prone to catching fire, so you can thwart this type of incident by simply watering your tree, perhaps every other day, if necessary.

Have a safe and Merry Christmas!
